DJ Satterfield of Omaha, Nebraska won the title of North American Strongman Lightweight masters champion on Saturday, September 23. He earned the title by winning 3 of the 5 events in the Masters/teens/Military/Fire/Police national competition held in St Louis, Missouri. The events were max overhead axle press, frame carry, power stairs, carry and flip, and keg load. Dave Kraft, of Belton, MO was third in the masters lightweight division, also earning an award. Also representing our area well were Tim Nassen of St Joseph, MO in the Masters lightweight division, Bobby Bounds of Kansas in the Masters heavyweight division, and Sean Hatley of Kansas City in the teen heavyweight division. DJ, Dave, Tim, and Bobby all made their way to MacPherson, Kansas that night to compete in the strongman meet there the next day.
