Rodney competed in the World Championship in powerlifting this past week, and placed 4th overall in the 220 pound class.  His 518 pound bench press earned him first place in that lift and a Gold medal.  Congrats Rodney!

This year's NAS nationals was a landmark competition for the guys from KCSTRONGMAN.  Not only did we send by far the biggest group we ever have, but they outperformed any group from our area that has ever gone.  Eric Rothwell, former University of Iowa football standout, led the way by winning the superheavyweight crown, and the overall heavyweight crown, thus recieving his pro card.  Justin Wheeler, of Liberty, MO was the runner up in the 231# class as well as the overall lightweight class.  John Connor of Kansas was fifth in the Superheavyweight class and eighth overall.  Scott Tully, Kansas State Chair, was  17th in the superheavies and 43rd overall. Zack Best of Nebraska was 17th in the 265# class and 51st overall.  Zeb Sullivan was 4th in the 175# class and 64th overall. Mac Capello of Nebraska got 8th in the 200# class and 38th overall.  Justin Cantwell won 9th place in the 200# class and 38th overall.Corey Kenkel was 14th in the 200 pound class and 47th overall.  Mike Prewitt of Kansas was 17th in the 200# class and 49th overall.  Josh Schuler of Iowa was 20th in the 200# class and 67th overall.  Jesse Jobe of Iowa was 29th in the 231# class and 37th overall.  Congrats guys!!!  Way to make KCSTRONGMAN proud!!!

DJ Satterfield of Omaha, Nebraska won the title of North American Strongman  Lightweight masters champion on Saturday, September 23.  He earned the title by winning 3 of the 5 events in the Masters/teens/Military/Fire/Police national competition held in St Louis, Missouri.  The events were max overhead axle press, frame carry, power stairs, carry and flip, and keg load.  Dave Kraft, of Belton, MO was third in the masters lightweight division, also earning an award.  Also representing our area well were Tim Nassen of St Joseph, MO in the Masters lightweight division, Bobby Bounds of Kansas in the Masters heavyweight division, and Sean Hatley of Kansas City in the teen heavyweight division.  DJ, Dave, Tim, and Bobby all made their way to MacPherson, Kansas that night to compete in the strongman meet there the next day. Whereas most open competitors would have been too beat up to do this, this group put aside their aches and pains and fiercely competed a second day in a row.
